Policy
In our company, teamwork is the key to success. Working together to achieve common goals is the essence of teamwork.
The responsibility for achieving these goals is vested in our managers and supervisors. To do this, your manager and/or supervisor must have your cooperation and willingness to work under their leadership.
Procedure
What Is Insubordination?
Insubordination is a form of wrongdoing that undermines leadership.
Insubordination includes, but is not limited to:
- Refusing to follow these policies in bad faith or without good cause;
- Refusing to follow other rules and regulations of the company in bad faith or without good cause;
- Knowingly defying management or other authority in bad faith or without good cause;
- Knowingly disobeying an order of management or other authority in bad faith or without good cause; or
- Knowingly disrespecting ownership, other associated members, corporate employees, its mission or its management in bad faith or without good cause.
Any employee who is insubordinate is subject to discipline, including, but not limited to, termination.
Good Faith Refusal
It is not insubordination to refuse an order, demand, or request in good faith and with good reason. It is up to the General Manager and Human Resources to decide whether an employee's refusal is in good faith and justified.
It is not reasonable or "for good cause" to refuse an order or defy a policy simply because you disagree with the order or policy or do not want to perform the order or policy.
Unlawful Orders, Demands or Requests
It is not insubordination to resist an unjust request, demand, or order from a superior. In the event that employees are subjected to such unlawful orders, demands, or requests, they should refuse to comply and contact Management, Human Resources, and/or Ownership immediately.
