Policy
Employees of the company are required to maintain a neat and clean appearance appropriate to both their workplace environment and their job responsibilities as part of that effort. All supervisors and managers are to enforce guidelines for workplace-appropriate attire and grooming for their areas.
Procedure
In order to better represent the company, employees engaged in customer-related duties are required to wear company-issued uniforms at all times. Wearing the uniform while on duty is mandatory.
A uniform consists of the following items: uniform shirt and an employee name tag for each new employee upon hire. Employees are required to sign for these items, and uniforms are considered company property and are to be returned upon termination of employment or upon request.
The employee is responsible for maintaining and caring for company uniforms when they are issued. Employees needing uniform repair or replacement must return the old uniform in exchange for a new one. In addition to the normal wear and tear of uniforms, excessive damage and loss can result in disciplinary actions. In some cases, the company may issue new uniforms periodically or may require uniforms to be returned for special reasons (e.g., logo changes, corporate color changes). The company will notify employees of the exchange and provide suitable replacement uniforms.
Employees with questions regarding this policy or its implementation are encouraged to contact their supervisor, manager or general manager.
Specific Requirements
It may be necessary for certain staff members to meet special dress, grooming, and hygiene standards, such as wearing protective clothing. Depending on the position, uniforms and protective clothing may be required, and employees will receive the necessary uniforms.
Staff members may be permitted to dress in a less formal manner on special occasions if management approves it, at the discretion of the department head during unusually hot or cold weather. Employees should still keep a neat appearance on such occasions, and it is not permitted to wear athletic clothing, ripped clothes, or clothes with frayed hems. Likewise, tight, revealing or other workplace-inappropriate clothing is prohibited
Reasonable accommodations for religious beliefs
The company supports the rights of its employees to have their religious beliefs respected. An employee's religious beliefs can be accommodated in terms of workplace apparel unless doing so creates an undue hardship.
